Crêpe Printing
What if, for the duration of a print, paper gave way to a crêpe?
With Crêpe Printing, David Jeuniaux puts an edible twist on traditional screen printing. The principle remains the same, but paper is replaced by a crêpe and ink by chocolate spread.
Working with his screen-printing frame, the artist prints directly onto crêpes in front of the audience. As the squeegee passes over the screen, the design is transferred onto the surface of each crêpe, which is then immediately served and enjoyed.
Crêpe Printing transforms a technique usually associated with paper and printmaking into an ephemeral performance, where the printed image is destined to disappear as soon as it is created.
