About the talk
Ponpon Mania - Blending storytelling, illustration and creative coding
Ponpon Mania is an interactive comic about Ponpon, a megalomaniac sheep who dreams of becoming a DJ, created by illustrator Justine Soulié and creative developer Patrick Heng.
In this talk, we’ll share our personal journeys, how illustration and creative coding brought us together, and how Ponpon Mania was born.
We’ll walk through our creative process, from illustration to interactive WebGL scenes, and show how motion, shaders and interactions bring the comic panels to life.
We’ll also present the custom editor and tools we built to compose panels, iterate faster and work more closely together.
Through sketches, prototypes and technical breakdowns, we’ll show how the constant back and forth between illustration and code shaped the project.
