About the panel

What happens when AI, immersive technologies, design, research and the arts come together? And what does it take to turn an exciting experiment into something that lasts?

Switzerland offers an interesting perspective. Across its different linguistic regions and cantons, universities, creative professionals, technology companies and innovation networks are finding ways to work together. But collaboration is not always straightforward, and there is no single recipe for success.

Bringing together six voices from across Switzerland, this panel explores how ideas move between research labs, creative studios, companies and innovation ecosystems.

Through their experiences in AI, immersive technologies, digital fabrication, artistic research and innovation, the speakers will discuss what makes these collaborations possible, where the challenges lie and how promising experiments can grow into meaningful projects.

Barbara Brooijmans is the Science and Academic Counsellor for Wallonie-Bruxelles International in Switzerland, where she fosters cooperation between Swiss and Wallonia-Brussels ecosystems across a wide range of priority sectors in research, higher education and innovation, including the creative and digital industries.

Laetitia Bochud is an immersive technology expert and creative producer who leads Virtual Switzerland, co-founded the European XR accelerator IMPULSE and chairs XR4Europe, connecting creative talent, industry and innovation networks.

Serena Cangiano is a senior researcher and Head of FabLab at SUPSI, where she brings together design, digital fabrication and collaborative experimentation to develop new approaches to education, research and innovation.

Stella Speziali is an interaction designer and researcher at ZHdK's Immersive Arts Space, exploring how immersive technologies, digital humans and interactive performances connect artistic practice and research.
